The War We Must Win

by Tamara Lynn Scott

Out of depression and hopelessness
can come
destruction,
will to die,
will to kill,
ability to lie,
festering,
ingrained

Out of the voicelessness
can cry
the terror of all
hell,
here on earth,
where we stand,
live,
no boundaries,
no isolated place.

Here is an answering
to our failures,
and a need for understand,
there are no borders
to the hearts and minds
of man.

Feed the hungry,
Heal the sick.
Hear the heartbeat
of the land.

Feed the loving.
Feed the care.
Give your heart to
all you can.

There is a new war
awakening,
to all we are,
and all we aim.
The war that has always been
within us,
the boundaries to cross,
the opening win.

And this war must be won,
if we are to win.

Out of our fears we realize
what we have always known,
together we stand,
lose or win.

And in our strengths
we find again,
no boundaries,
no walls.

A world of heaven or hell
waits within.

All begins
