Aldous Huxley's vision in 'Brave New World' involved a nation so entranced with diversion-seeking
that its people voluntarily gave up democracy in favor of hypnotically sucking the pacifier of
non-stop entertainment.

In 'Amusing Ourselves to Death' Neil Postman says "Tyrants of all varieties have always known
the value of providing the masses with amusements as a means of pacifying discontent."             

And as Mumia Abu-Jamal recently said in a statement for radio from death row "The media is in
the business of entertaining, not informing."

We see that neo-con hate-radio talk shows use emotional appeals to provoke specific emotional
reactions in listeners, designed to bypass the intellect.  They promote emotional thinking, where a
person who holds the opposite viewpoint is seen as horrible and completely wrong.  The results
are masses of mindless drones, filled with hate, but lacking in real wisdom.  (Remember the
'RATS' subliminal programming ad, and the manipulating 'TRUST' Bush ad?)

With the Moonies purchase of UPI and the TV version of hate-radio, FOX-TV News
(WE DISTORT - WE DECIDE) broadcasting their lies, we urgently need to change the media's
biased reporting of the news.
